The city’s best celebratory spots

Dubai’s legendary New Year’s Eve celebrations are world-famous for a reason, and last year was no exception. As the countdown gets closer, we predict the best places to be as the clock strikes 12.

__Standard Values

BURJ KHALIFA

In Dubai, New Year’s Eve and fireworks are pretty much synonymous. The city is known for hosting a magnificent display of lights every year that attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators around the world. This year isn't expected to be any different, with extravagant pyrotechnic shows at Burj Khalifa and water-music dance at the Dubai Fountain.

Burj Khalifa & The Dubai Fountain
You can’t imagine a better view of Dubai’s most awe-inspiring New Year’s Eve celebration than from the very footsteps of Burj Khalifa. Thousands gather along the waterfront of the Dubai Fountain to catch the spectacular light and water show at midnight, so make sure to get a headstart. Arrive as early as 6pm to avoid traffic and grab a top spot. Or, book a table at one of the famous restaurants lining the waterfront by The Dubai Mall to guarantee yourself a good seat. Plan ahead as roads and access to the Downtown area will be restricted on the night for crowd control.
Free access

Souk Al Bahar
Just across the bridge from The Dubai Mall is Souk Al Bahar, an upscale dining and lifestyle destination. Many restaurants here, such as Karma KafĂ© and Serafina, boast clear views of the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountain. Again, book ahead so you don’t have to rush to find a seat with the whole family.
Free access; advanced booking required at restaurants

Burj Plaza
In the shadow of the Burj Khalifa is Burj Plaza, an open-air promenade. Along with a range of dining destinations where you can book a table, this is the best place to be for an alternative and uninterrupted view of the Downtown fireworks.

PALM JUMEIRAH

Atlantis, The Palm
Is there a better place to celebrate in Dubai? Book yourself into the Atlantis resort for a NYE to remember or join in the festivities by reserving a table at one of the resort's fantastic restaurants and lounges.

Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk
The 11km boardwalk along the crescent of the Palm Jumeirah is the place to be on the Palm this NYE. Stretching all the way from the One&Only, The Palm to the other end, the walkway offers numerous spots for visitors to watch the fireworks display at Atlantis. If you head to the Rixos-end of the crescent, you’ll be able to spy the Burj Khalifa celebrations too. Bear in mind that access to the Palm is typically restricted to control traffic on NYE, so plan and arrive accordingly.
Free access

The Pointe
Located across the bay from Atlantis, The Palm, this entertainment and retail destination at the tip of Palm Jumeirah has more than 80 shops, restaurants and attractions to explore while you wait for the big event. We recommend booking a dinner at one of the many waterside restaurants here for an unforgettable dinner and a show.
Free entry to The Pointe. Advance booking required at restaurants.

BURJ AL ARAB

Madinat Jumeirah
With over 40 restaurants and lounges to choose from, Madinat Jumeirah is another great place to party this New Year’s Eve. We recommend booking dinner under the stars at Khaymat Al Bahar or Shimmers On The Beach.

Kite Beach
One of the best locations to spend NYE for free is Kite Beach, a public beach right next to Burj Al Arab. Arrive early to grab a good spot and have a picnic party on the sands.

DUBAI FESTIVAL CITY

Dubai Festival City Mall
Enjoy dinner with a view at one of the mall’s restaurants overlooking Festival Bay, including Eataly, Big Fernand, Semsom, Al Fanar and Peppermill. Watch the special IMAGINE water and light show to ring in 2020. Be sure to reserve tables in advance.

REST OF DUBAI

Global Village
Celebrate New Year’s Eve with the people of China, Thailand, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Russia while enjoying the multi-cultural park’s spread of irresistible delicacies, live music and unlimited entertainment.

La Mer
Watch as Meraas’ family beachfront destination La Mer transforms into open-air venue set to enthrall audiences of all ages. It's a great choice for families who want to combine the best of outdoor fun and NYE festivities.

Al Seef
Looking for a New Year party with old-world charm? Head to Dubai's heritage district of Al Seef and explore creekside dining with the best seats as you take in the scintillating views of the fireworks.
